Bio of Karrie Wallen, M. A.

Karrie was a high school mathematics teacher and athletics coach for 16 years before becoming a union representative with the California Teachers Association for 6 years.  She is currently following her passion into the arena of transformational workshop facilitation.   She holds a Masters Degree in Education and demonstrates a vast depth of knowledge gained through experiences of working with students, teachers, and administrators.   Karrie understands the educational system and the frustration that sometimes undermines the passion and creative desires that motivated teachers and administrators to enter the profession.  She understands how communication – authentic listening and sharing – can transform relationships and thus school sites. 

Karrie has experienced the public school system and knows how to be a part of the solution.  Karrie believes that communication, re-connecting to passion, and finding balance are some of the keys to living life – professional and personal – in creative bliss, peace and harmony.  She knows that these factors enhance teaching, learning and co-creating.  Karrie understands from experience that passion is contagious and authentic communication builds relationships.  She knows that when the two are practiced in tandem miracles occur!  The positive energy related to passion and good communication promotes collaboration, co-creation, and synergy – the results of which can be miraculous both for the individual and for the collective group! 

With all this in mind, Karrie has created KonsciousEducators.org as a vehicle for sharing tools and experiences that will enhance the lives and workplace of those in the world of education.
